Red Brick Gallery’s ArtWalk Arty Party

An ArtWalk Fundraiser July 18th 7-10pm

With the tightening of the city’s budget many of the programs from the cultural affairs department were cut and ArtWalk’s funding was greatly diminished. If we as a community want to see ArtWalk continue the time to show our support is now.

Join us on Saturday July 18th from 7-10pm for a fun evening of Art, Live Music and treats to raise funds to help ArtWalk continue. 10 artists will be demonstrating how they create their work and talk about their processes throughout the night. Mediums included in the demonstrations are Oil, Watercolor, Acrylic painting, Mixed Media creations, ceramics and more. At least one piece from each demonstrator plus several other artists and merchants’ gifts will be available as part of the raffle. There will be about 30 raffle items and there will also be some pieces of art valued at $1000 that has been graciously donated by an anonymous benefactor.

Tickets ($10) are limited; advanced reservations are highly recommended. Call Red Brick Gallery at 805-643-6400. In addition to watching the artists work attendees will enjoy Live Jazz by the V-Town Trio and appetizers donated by local restaurants including Watermark, 71 Palm, Café Fiore, Savory Cafe and more.

All the money from the ArtWalk Arty Party tickets and all of the raffle money plus an additional percentage of all of the evening’s profits will be donated to the Ventura ArtWalk.

This will be the first of many fundraisers that the Red Brick Gallery and the Downtown Ventura Organization are producing to help keep Ventura’s ArtWalk and art scene thriving. We invite all artists and art appreciators to join us in supporting ArtWalk the cultural event that has become a part of what makes Ventura “California’s New Art City.” This event will be a good introduction to some of Ventura’s art scene and the artists who are a part of the ArtWalk family.

Demonstrating Artists include:
Mixed Media Artists Sue Harding and Patty Van Dyke; Watercolorist Joe Cibere; Acrylic and Oils Painters John Sidman “Fish Man” and Joseph LaCorte; Ceramicists
Cecile Gurrola Faulconer, Kevin and Linda McLeod; Pastel Artist Dorna Shapiro and other artists will be announced as they come.

There will also be items for raffle that have been donated by Wine Rack, We Olive, Architexture Salon, Fox Fine Jewelry and other downtown businesses.
