"Capturing Color" Youth Painting Classes with Jen Livia

Join Artist and Teacher Jen Livia for this new series of youth painting classes students work in Watercolors, Acrylics, Pencil or Mixed Media all classes are geared to all skill levels and we can work with realistic or abstract subjects.

A Variety of Valentines 

Sunday, Feb. 5th 11am- 12:30pm $25 each

We will create several mini Valentine Day themed paintings that can be given as cards or presents.  We will work in vibrant colors and bold shapes that will loosen up the student’s painting .

Painting has gone to the Dogs and Cats

Sunday, Feb. 19th 11am-12:30pm  $25 each                   

We will explore our pets and how to capture their personality in paint. The focus will be on creating textures, how to create interesting coloring and capture expressions either from photos of the student’s pets or from pictures of other cats and dogs.

Deep Sea Exploration 

Sunday, March 4th 11am- 12:30pm $25 each

We will explore the world under water as we paint its creatures and the currents. Students will learn how to paint the animals with from their own view and create a world with a bit of haze and sparkle. 

Trees of All Sizes

Sunday, March 18th 11am- 12:30pm $25 each

Learn to paint a variety of trees big and small with lots of texture
and vibrant colors.  We will explore what makes each season’s
tree unique.

Flowers Big and Small 

Sunday, April 8th 11am -12:30pm $25 each

This class will focus on creating paintings of both individual flowers, bouquets and bushes of flowers. We will discuss how to compose an interesting close up and how to pick what to focus on. The flowers will be loose and vibrant and details will be added along the way. Several pieces will be accomplished as we paint with wet acrylics.

Ventura's 2 Trees

Sunday, April 8th 11am -12:30pm $25 each

Paint the iconic 2 trees in your own style as we talk about color, seasons and how to create a unique version of our local landmark in this fun class.

Escape to the Beach 

Sunday, May 6th 11am -12:30pm $25 each

Join Jen as you adventure to into the world of the sea as we paint a either a local seascape or a beach from a tropical land. Palm trees, sand and the surf will inspire us to create something fun and textured.

Art of the Animal Kingdom

Sunday, May 20th 11am -12:30pm $25 each

Paint your favorite wild animal as we explore how to paint fun, scales and feathers.

Abstracts of All Kinds

Sunday, June 3rd 11am -12:30pm $25 each

Learn how to see your paint beyond traditional subjects and form.  Bring your ideas and anything that inspires you.  We will work on several exercises to help your mind and arm loosen up to get the paint to flow out of you.
