Jen Livia, one of the owners of Red Brick Gallery, is now offering a consultation service for Professional Artists. This service is tailored to each artist's needs and desires. This powerful and informative workshop will discuss creative career building strategies essential for survival and success. Topics will include how to:
1-Approaching a Gallery; Learn do’s and don’ts of approaching a gallery to represent your work. Top 5 steps to professionally present your art and yourself to a gallery and how to find the right galleries for your work.
2-Price Your Work; Once you’ve made the work you want to be able to sell it, come learn some how to determine the price you should charge for your work to help it sell and keep you competitive within the art market. We will also talk about the importance of naming your art.
3-Take a Good Image of Your Art; Get the tips on how to photograph your artwork for the best realistic representation of the piece. This class is appropriate for all types of art both 2-D and 3-D.
4-Understand Digital Formats for Your Art; Decode the digital language on image resolution, sizing your pictures and clearly explain what and each type of image size is used for.
5-Write Your Artist Statement and Bio; Now that you have created your work how, do you explain what you do and why you do it to others? In this seminar you will learn how to talk about you and your art and why it is important to have an Artist Statement, Biography and Resume.
6-Compose Your Portfolio; What to include and how to organize your work into a professional packet that best represents you as an artist and will help facilitate gallery representation, grants, loans and festival submissions
7-Market Your Art; What to do to get your work known and how to create a client base that stays interested in your work. We will discuss several forms of marketing including the advantages of both print and digital marketing.
8-Present You and Your Art To Sell; Compose a body of work that is cohesive and represents what you are trying to say and your style.
9-Find Publicity; We will cover the many ways to get free publicity and really get your name out without spending any money.
10-Navigate an Artist Reception and Get Your Work Sold; Learn tips on what works best for a gallery setting vs an Event setting to attract potential clients, interact with them and ultimately make a sale.
Jen will discuss aspects of becoming a professional artist based on personal experience with her own art and the many lessons she has learned while working with 100's of artists over the past 9 years. It is easier to learn the mistakes and the strengths rather than navigating through them on your own.
Consultations can cover all of the above information in one session or multiple. We can also cover only what you wish and you can bring in samples of any aspect of the above you would like specific help with.
